Midsouth Mopars

Dedicated to Promoting, Preserving, and Racing the Chrysler Name

I cruised on up I-40 to the Goodguys Nashville Nationals last weekend, had a great time even if I was the only person I knew there... Lots of cool Mopars and Mopar powered rods, including a 1,300 hp Hemi powered Rolls Royce. Speaking of which, am I the only one who has about had it up to here (hand to forehead) with the Hemi thing? Seems like the Hemi is becoming the new small block Chevy! Everyone with a street rod wants a first gen Hemi in it, and the musclecar crowd is all into the 2nd and 3rd gen crate engines. Me, I'll stick with my lil' ol' LA wedge; better mileage, less fussy, no high dollar exotic parts to break and when you do need something it's easy to get at any parts store...
Anyway, it was a great show as expected even if quite hot. They were getting a taste of Memphis heat! Should be better next year, they moved the show up to May which ought to be several degrees cooler.

Nope, too expensive and too heavy. I'll be different and stick with a wedge, although I will say that a nice six pack with a birdcatcher on top wouldn't be too bad!
